ASAMW Names Gwyn Donohue, CAE, as Executive Director

Alexandria, VA (July 28, 2025) — The American Subcontractors Association of Metro Washington (ASAMW) has appointed Gwyn Donohue, CAE, as Executive Director. She succeeds longtime leader Ike Casey, who retired after more than a decade of dedicated service and will support the transition.

Association Leadership with Industry Expertise

Donohue brings over 20 years of experience in association management, including leadership roles in construction and nonprofit sectors. She previously served as Executive Director of NAHB Remodelers at the National Association of Home Builders, where she led council operations, governance, and strategic planning while revitalizing member engagement through expanded value-driven programs.

“Gwyn brings the experience and forward-thinking leadership ASAMW needs in this next chapter,” said ASAMW Board President Martin Press of Press Mechanical Contractors. “We are thankful to Ike Casey for his 13 years of outstanding service and excited to see Gwyn build on that legacy with new opportunities for growth and engagement.”

Strategic Focus on Member Value

As Executive Director, Donohue will lead ASAMW’s portfolio of member programs, including education, policy engagement, networking, and professional development. She will focus on advancing member value, strengthening partnerships, and supporting subcontractors in a dynamic construction landscape.

Donohue is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) with a B.S. in Marketing Management from Virginia Tech. She has held senior roles at Pet Partners, the Pet Advocacy Network, and National 4-H Council, and is recognized for award-winning communications and rebranding initiatives that elevated visibility and drove stakeholder action.

“ASAMW plays a critical role in helping subcontractors stay informed, connected, and competitive,” said Donohue. “I’m honored to lead this organization and eager to collaborate with the Board, staff, members and partner organizations to advance our shared priorities.”

ASAMW is the leading regional trade association for construction subcontractors in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The organization helps members grow their businesses through education, peer networking, advocacy, and business best practice sharing.
