Please join ASA of Metro Washington on Wednesday, September 20, as we seek to enhance the partnership between the organization's General Contractor Partners and  Subcontractors by addressing mutual concerns about change orders and claims.  

ASAMW recognizes that our GC Partners’ project management staff are attempting to manage multiple trades and the Owners' needs and requests. The fact that Subcontractors are the experts regarding the work, means and methods of their trade(s), and that Subcontractors should not assume that the GC project management staff understands their work to the same level that they do is also recognized. This discussion among Subcontractors and ASAMW's GC Partners' project managers will provide insight and information regarding:

(a) cost elements and factors that go into them, 

(b) impact on Subcontractors' planned work activities (e.g. schedule and productivity), and

(c) the common problems and pitfalls that GCs and Subs face with change orders and how we can all improve.

Additionally, we are sure there is much for Subcontractors to learn about the General Contractor/Owner relationship that will help us become better partners.
