SPEAKERS Modupe Akinnawonu, Senior Product Manager, Siteline Modupe Akinnawonu is a Senior Product Manager at Siteline, a pay app and lien waiver management platform built for trade contractors. Previously, she was a senior product manager at Peloton, and a product manager focused on mobile apps at The New York Times. She has spent the last two years living and breathing construction finance and has loved bringing her experience building technology to the industry. Modupe has a BA in History and an MA in Economics from New York University, and an MBA from Stanford University. She is also a member of the CFMA New York City chapter and lives in Brooklyn.
Ryan Gaiss, Enterprise Account Executive, Document Crunch Based in Boston, Ryan is passionate about helping contractors leverage technology to enhance efficiency in the construction industry. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan, with a concentration in structural engineering and construction management. Ryan began his career at Consigli Construction where he worked on historical renovation projects as a project manager. Martin Press, President, Press Mechanical Martin Press has over 40 years in the industry, specializing in mechanical design, building, and construction. As the current President of Press Mechanical Contractors, Inc., Martin leverages his experience to guide the company through strategic planning and mentorship. Martin’s expertise encompasses a broad range of areas, including corporate strategy and vision development, contract review and administration, and construction quality control. His project management experience is notable, with direct involvement in mechanical construction projects. Martin is also recognized for his skills in market analysis, trend spotting, and leading sales strategy development. Martin is currently the American Subcontractor Association Metro Washington Vice President and is currently serving on the American Subcontractor Association National board of directors. Ryan Hays, Surety and Insurance Advisor to the Construction and Real Estate Industries, Marsh & McLennan - Moderator
Prior to joining IA/MMA, Ryan worked as an underwriter handling construction surety accounts at Travelers. While underwriting, he helped public and private builders meet the demand for new and improved infrastructure. By developing confidential client relationships Ryan learned how to verify and evaluate corporate and personal financial data, review job backlogs, and examine contract provisions to successfully underwrite a bonded job. In addition, he also helps advise his clients on complex insurance requirements and best practices.
Through his disciplined approach, Ryan can help negotiate terms and conditions consistent with established surety standards. He also understands the need for businesses to stay nimble and he will help complex clients consider different approaches that support their business objectives. Above all, Ryan stresses the importance of owning and delivering positive outcomes with integrity.
When Ryan isn’t actively participating in local trade and industry associations, he enjoys boxing, hiking, and is an avid fan of the Maryland Terrapins, Baltimore Ravens, and the Orioles.
