All Subcontractors need the proper information on subcontracting to make sure they are in compliance with current wage and hour laws.  A top notch team will dig into the risks involved in using undocumented workers, using sub-subcontractors and not paying wages required by law.  Invite the competitors you know are underbidding by paying wages that do not comply with current law.  No one will be identified, so this is a safe place for all to learn and assess the risks involved.

Amy Kim is an Outreach Specialist at U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division. As Outreach Specialist, she promotes the agency goal by providing education and assistance with the various laws under WHD department’s purview. She is committed to developing and maintaining productive, collaborative relationships with organizations that service employers and employees. Prior to her current role, she served as a Wage and Hour Investigator for past 5 and half year as an enforcement staff.


Ali Hinga Nevitt - Assistant Attorney General, Social Justice Section; Public Advocacy Division, Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia
Ali focuses on wage theft, labor issues, and workplace health and safety.


Julie Reddig
 - Employment & Labor Attorney, Principal; Lerch, Early, Brewer
Julie’s clients represent a cross-section of the Washington, DC region’s employers, with a mix of blue and white collar environments, particularly in construction and related companies, transportation, property management, professional services, and consulting firms. Many of these are government contractors.Julie counsels and trains executives, HR professionals, and front-line managers on compliance with employment statutes and regulations. This includes best practices for hiring and firing, preventing harassment claims, compliance with wage and hour provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), laws that protect ill, injured or disabled employees, such as the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or state or local laws, and laws specific to the wage and affirmative action obligations of government contractors. In addition, she helps contractors and subcontractors on public works projects to comply with prevailing wage requirements of the Davis-Bacon Act.
